Foreign Transaction Fees

Foreign transaction fees (or FX fees) are a fee associated with a charge made outside the US. You can find which charges have FX associated with them with a simple charge export.

If you notice a charge on your account that you don't recognize, it might be related to foreign transaction (FX) fees. Every quarter, KleerCard reviews charges that come from outside the United States and then passes on any foreign transaction fees to your account. You may still be charged this fee for purchases made within the United States if the merchant is located in a foreign country. This fee as a single transaction on your statement each quarter. The foreign transaction fee rate is 2%.

To see which charges have FX fees associated with them simply export your charges using the universal FX Fee Export.

You can access the FX Fee Export by going to the Settings tab and selecting Universal Exports found under Integrations. From here click the green button labeled "New Charge Export" and name your report in Step 1 then select the "FX Fee Export" preset in Step 2. Click the green "Create" button and your export is ready to use.

Next, go to your Charges tab, select the charges for the time period you wish to export and view (example, filter charges for all of July if you'd like to see which charges in July incurred a FX fee), and select the button labeled "Download CSV" and select your new FX Fee export in the dropdown menu. Open the export download (it will download as a .csv file) and look in the column labeled "FX Fee" for any foreign transactions fees that were incurred and their corresponding merchant.
